The Home Builders Association of Tuscaloosa recently held its Annual Sporting Clay Shoot at Camp Horne, Boy Scouts of America. The event began with a luncheon provided by Pottery Grill, a local BBQ restaurant.
Fourteen, four-man teams participated in the shoot, with the team from Cabaniss Engineering, Inc. (shown in photo) winning for the fifth time as they made 188 hits out of 200 total team shots.

Major sponsors included:
Tuscaloosa Chevrolet (Lunch Sponsor)
ABS Systems of Alabama (Ammo Sponsor)
BankFirst (Clay Target Sponsor)
Sentell Home Design (Ear & Eye Protection Sponsor)
Alabama Home Builders Self Insurers Fund (Hydration Sponsor)
Rumsey Environmental, LLC (Slash & Trash Sponsor)
There were also 14 shooting station sponsors, including:
Toulmin Kitchen & Bath, which sponsored the HBAT Cotton Ball Drop Contest. At the designated station, a cotton ball was glued to each clay, with the shooter attempting to hit the clay target in the hopes that the cotton ball lands in a wash tub placed in the middle of the shot perimeter. Any cotton balls landing in the tub had the shooter’s name go into a drawing for $500 cash.
HBAT Past President Richard Henry hosted an “After Shoot” get-together at his lodge down the road from the clay shoot, where recognitions, prizes and awards were presented.
